That all sounds very tough. Your wellbeing comrs first. Its absolutely ok to say something along the lines of " im sorry im not in the right headspace to support you right now, but i care about you and here are some helpines you can contact. Text Shout to 85258
Or Samaritans are available on 116 123 "
I know its difficult but you dont have to feel guilt for setting boundaries to protect your own mental health.
Youre not stupid. You have a kindheart, setting boundaries doesnt change that.
Big hugs morgan. Look after yourself
This is going to sound very tough and blunt but its the easiest way i can explain it.
They are not your responsibility. Your wellbeing is your priority. Youve offered them somewhere to go for help, its up to them wether they use those helplines or not. Talking to people and building trust is tough. It takes time but there are other people they can talk to. Their GP,helplines. These are People who can help them without putting their own health at risk.
You have the right to say i cant help you, im not in the right headspace.
Good Friends support eachother but they also respect eachothers boundaries.
Sending lots of hugs
