Zero Motivation

Hi, I just want to post a rant because that seems to be the best way to let my emotions out.

I woke up today with so little energy that barely managed to get myself out of bed. I felt so tired for no reason that I decided to skip uni today and now I feel even worse about myself. Its like I have no motivation to do anything and I'm worried that if I continue like this my situation is only going to get worse. Everything just seems to take so much effort and its kinda worrying because I'm not usually like this.

Just a small rant because I don't even feel like writing any more.

Sending hugs!

    Hi @JJLemon18
Hope you start to feel better soon, I'm sorry to hear you're having a hard time at the moment.
I think I know how you feel. For years I have struggled with my attendance due to mental health issues. Especially at university - missing just one day can feel like you're so incredibly behind that it becomes really overwhelming to return/catch-up. That's why I always say it's so important to focus on your mental health during times like this to help break the cycle. Worrying about this continuing will only make you feel anxious. Redirect that energy to taking care of yourself during this time. Alongside that will come the motivation to continue everyday life.
    Wishing you luck <3

Hi @JJLemon18 I hear that at the moment you have been having difficulty with staying motivated. I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling this way. But I would like to say that sometimes even though the feeling of being unmotivated can create unnecessary dread, it is a normal human feeling. Sometimes our bodies and mind will become drained and will feel tired. It is important that during these times of tiredness to focus and prioritise your mental health and to make sure you are taking time out for yourself. You don't have to feel bad about skipping a day at university as really you are focusing on your mental health which is a good thing to do.

I completely understand how you feel especially with the feeling of tiredness and unrest as I too have experienced unmotivation a lot especially to do with my coursework. However, sometimes when I feel a bit unmotivated I try to do something and take a break. Then I will come back to the task with a fresher mind. I am sending you a big hug, hope you are feeling better soon.

    Sending hugs,

Thank you @Amy22 I will gladly accept a big hug!
The problem is that I know I've already missed too many days and I'm still not feeling any better. I'm gonna work on it.

I understand but sometimes taking time for yourself is just as important too. If you do feel like you are a bit behind on work you could always explain to your tutor or even if there are learner services in your uni as I'm sure they would be willing to help you too especially with coursework and motivation.

@Amy22 I think I will, first I just need to build the courage to do it.
