Sorry to hear that going to people isn't helping.
The Mix do good articles on all things mental health, I attach a link to their self harm feature:
https://www.themix.org.uk/mental-health/self-harm
The charity MIND is also very good for articles for all things to do with mental health and has people's personal stories.
Here is their article on self harm help for now: https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/types-of-mental-health-problems/self-harm/helping-yourself-now/#.Xa35TZNKiRs
Here is their article for self harm help in the long term: https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/types-of-mental-health-problems/self-harm/helping-yourself-long-term/#.Xa35aJNKiRs
Every person is different and their ways of coping might not help you. It might be useful to know what you found helpful before or you still do. Personally speaking, I let myself have days where I wouldn't do anything I didn't want to, if I wanted to stay in bed all day I would, if I wanted to go for a walk I would but I would make sure to monitor this. Keeping myself distracted usually helped me get through the darker days
