Welcome to Health & Wellbeing!
This is a place to talk about anything related to mental or physical health, as well as general wellbeing.
If you’re here for the first time, make sure you check out the full community guidelines over on our website. Here are a few things to bear in mind when using this forum:
If you're having suicidal
thoughts right now and don't feel safe, or if you need urgent support for any other reason, the community isn't a good place
for you to get support. We're not set up or trained to provide support
to people in crisis, and these conversations can make others feel very
worried or unsafe. If you're at breaking point, there are specialist crisis services out there who want to help. Here are a few:
Visit your nearest A&E department or call 999
if you need urgent medical attention, or if you have plans to end your
life and don't feel safe. They are there to protect and help you when
you need it most.
Our
crisis messenger text service provides free, 24/7 crisis support across
the UK. If you’re aged 25 or under, and are experiencing any painful
emotion or are in crisis, you can text THEMIX to 85258.
Papyrus can help you work on some practical techniques to get you through those intense moments:
If
you are having thoughts of suicide or are concerned for a young person
who might be you can contact HOPELINEUK for confidential
support and practical advice.

Seek medical help if you need it
With any injury, it's crucial to take care of it. There are a number of things you can do to ensure you stay safe, but it might be better to get yourself checked out by a professional. We strongly advise visiting your local A&E or calling 999 if you think you need urgent medical attention.
You can't be diagnosed online
To get a reliable diagnosis, you need to be examined by a qualified medical professional, and may also need clinical tests. Please take any advice you are given on public discussion boards with a pinch of salt - don't trust it until you have confirmed it with your nurse or doctor.
We all make mistakes
We appreciate that when you're not feeling very resilient you might find yourself unintentionally overstepping the guidelines. Everybody makes mistakes, so we won't ban anyone after one false move. If you repeatedly overstep guidelines following messages from moderators, we may have to take further action.
