Hi Everyone, My name is Penny ,Hope all are doing well..During the Holidays I find very hard for myself, I haven't got my kids nothing for Christmas, but I keep telling myself , I am thankful we have a roof over our head and food on table ..We have it better then some so I am very thankful for that..I work very hard to do that , still it just dont seem right not to have one present for them , so I am feeling really depressed. I am trying very hard to shake it off, so has any-one got any suggestions?

    Hi Penny. Welcome to TheSite!

I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling depressed. Christmas can be a difficult time for many people and for many reasons.

It's completely understandable to be disappointed that you can't give your children everything you would want to. But it's really good that you're focusing on the things that are positive.

It sounds like you work really hard to provide for your family, and I'm sure they appreciate that. Perhaps you could borrow from Thanksgiving and ask them what they're thankful today? Make Christmas about appreciating what you have rather than what you want.

Above all, enjoy spending time with them. For many of us, it's so rare to have dedicated time with our families that that in itself is a precious gift.

And let us know how you're getting on. There will be plenty of users on today, so share how you feel and we can help support you through the day.

    Will.
