The terror alert has not been changed, it is still severe which means an attack is highly likely.
That's what the governments definition might be but it does not mean an attack is highly likely at all. The whole 'threat level' is fucking stupid. Firstly it has never been set below 'substantial'. Secondly, the government don't feel the need, citing secrecy, to tell us why it may move between 'severe' and 'critical' - I assum critam means we should all blockade ourselves in our homes unil the threat is lowered again. It's a political tool designed to frighten people and aid in the passing of even more totalitarian laws. If you look over the past 60 years, these last 15 have been relatively quiet on the terrorism front for the UK.
