I am still unable to post in the Anything Goes forum, hence here.
On my laptop I have a pair of active weather stations that give forecasting information in real time. One is for general weather information and the other for lightning / storms. It's especially useful when I plan driving to Kent. But since this storm warning came up today, I thought it prudent to warn anyone living in the SW of England including London to take extra care when out this afternoon and tonight. This afternoon is forecasted thunder and lightning.
See Estofex in the purple left-hand margin: http://www.worthingweather.org/ Click on StormvueNGX to track storms
For lightning/storm information locally and across Europe inc, Canada and is the more accurate: http://www.lightningmaps.org/realtime
In the Bay of Biscay lies a deep, cold core depression approaching 980 hpa. It is pushing massive unstable damp air conditions with steep lapse rate of up to 500-2000 J/kg of SBCAPE into the English Channel. In other words, a potentially dangerous storm. The weather forecast can be read by on clicking the Estofex weather avatar of the day and scroll down. The weather today is forcasted by VAN DER VELDE and is valid until 06:00 Thursday morning.
