Workshop: Exploring anxiety and stress, Wednesday 13th May, 7-8.30pm
Anxiety. What is it, why is it and what can we do about it?!
Are you feeling stressed out or anxious? Is it exam season? Are you going through something that makes you want to curl up and hide? Do any of these smilies describe how you're feeling right now: :nervous: :crazyeyes :banghead:  ?
If so, then read on!
Whilst we all feel nervous and tense from time to time, too much stress and pressure can leave you feeling anxious, which can affect your sleep, appetite and ability to concentrate.
We're teaming up with Off The Record to run an interactive workshop, which will focus on understanding stress, panic and anxiety. We will explore what anxiety is, what happens to our bodies when we feel panic and warning signs that can help us to recognise when we are stressed and anxious. It will also include tips to help us cope with anxiety, with a particular focus on stress management to help you cope during the exam period.
There'll be a mixture of group discussion, learning and videos. It's worth noting that it won't be designed so much for individual support but more for coming up with practical tips as a team around coping with anxiety and stress
We'll try 3 main things:
- Explore the feelings of stress, panic and anxiety.
- Look at the impact of anxiety and understand the physical affects it has on our bodies.
- Introduce tips for coping with anxiety and share practical ideas that have worked for others.
