What advice about sex and/or relationships do you wish you'd been given?

There's a lot of advice about sex and relationships out there. But you have to know where to look for the good stuff. And, you don't always know what advice you need until you've found it, which can take a long time!

So, I was wondering, if you look back over your experience of romantic relationships, sexual relationships, being in love, or fancying someone; what advice do you wish that you'd been given?

If you could go back and give your younger self one really important piece of sex or relationship advice, what would it be?

Learn the word no and mean it.

That it's okay not to be with anyone and that a relationship works best when you have healthy self esteem and can be happy by yourself!

Those would both be very valuable lessons, neither of which appeared in any formal (or informal for that matter) education that I was around at school. It looks like the situation doesn't always improve with age - this article says that "Sex education comes from porn for more than half of university students".
