Every time i try to open Internet Explorer it takes AGES to open or doesn't open at all, does anyone know why this could be?

Stating the obvious, but there has to be something slowing it down. Another program perhaps. Have you recently been installing software?
Is this something that has been gradual, or intermittent? If so it may be just a case of the hard drive needing a defrag if you haven't done that for a while. Does the computer take a while to boot, or for programs to open? Combined with a lot of chugging from the computer. If so, then that may be the problem.
You could try a simple quick fix. Go to Add/Remove Programs, and select Internet explorer. When you click uninstall it will give you a repair option. Try that. It may fix small glitches, such as the one you're suffering from at the moment.
