Yay!! My team won the oub quiz last night and we won a gallom of beer!
Do you ever go to your local pub quiz? Do you ever win? What is the prize?!

    I do the bar quiz at uni every sunday and I'm still hurting from an incident last weekend...

    The first time I did it we had a team of basically our whole corridor and got 15/25, and won nothing.

    The next time I did it with two friends and we got 18/25, and won nothing.

    Last time I chose a team of ladies, and we only got 11/25, so we left immediately and didn't wait for the prize giving... only to find out the next day we won a bloody crate of Smirnoff Ice, and cos we weren't there they gave it to someone else!!! :crying:

    In our local, there was a random prize draw, the winner receiving a barrel of guiness (88 pints).
    The landlord picked a name out, muttered "oh, I don't know this person" and kept going til one of our names were called. heh, we finished it in one night and saved one pint for the guy who couldn't be there because he was at his mothers' funeral that day.

    Used to do pub quizes in one of our locals but they stopped doing them. Was a hit or a miss if we won and the prizes were usually vouchers that could only be spent in the bar.

    I used to hold pub quizes in our other local. Got paid £20 plus all the beer I could drink whilst holding the quiz. Was a good laugh. But more times than not I struggled to make it through the final round. All bleary eyed and blurred speech!!!

    I am the trivia king! :p

    We used to do pub quizzes all the time. We were reigning champions of our cricket club one, but then the pub backstabbed us and started doing quizzes themselves.
    Went to a few of them and came a hearty last :cool: Then everyone lost interest and nobody went anymore.


    Remember four of us girlies did one and we lost big time. We won a pint of lager with four straws, booby prize or what, i don't even drink lager :D

    We have them at the one down town. The prizes are...

    8 drinks vouchers for 1st
    4 drinks vouchers for 2nd.

    Which is ok coz your only allowed 4 in a team.
    We usually come third :rolleyes: no drinks for us!

    hmm my team never win the main prize however we always sit closest to the the guy reading out the questions cause you win a box of choclates for being the first team to hand your answer sheet in :D

    I've only been to the one pub quiz in my life in a rugby club for my school's PTA (?!)

    I've no idea why I was there but I did get very drunk with my teachers and now know the capital of Greenland is Nuuk!

    My team didn't come last, but very close to it...
