going blind?

I need help... I think. My left eye switches frm time to time into this grey mode or something, and everything goes grey. It just happened for the third time.I don't have a clue why it happens and it only last maybe 5 minutes so I never have evidence when I go to the doctors. heh. not that i ever do go :p

    Go to an opticians or a doctors. I know you hate them but seriously. Have you ever thought that it might be better for you being scared and going than being ill and not?

    However, you havnt suffered any loss of vision, so I would say that your not going blind.

    Visit the doctor.. Its the only way you'll get some answers. :)

    Well stop your moaning and go blind then. :p:p

    Glasses ain't that bad mate. If you need them the optician will sit with you and go through as many pairs of frames that you want till you find the right pair. They'll even advise on which type of frame would suit your face-shape.

    Just think yourself lucky. When I had to first start wearing glasses it was the NHS thick-black framed kind. I hated them so I never wore them. As a result I have to wear glasses pretty much all the time now.

    Considered contact lenses?

    :( my dad says i have to get the free kind tho - and they all have 'harry potter' on :crying: or something. and the optician never gave me any advice :mad:

    go and get it checked out asap, if there is anything serious wrong the quicker its caught the easier it should be to treat. i speak from experience as i suffer from diabetic retinopathy which can make you go blind. i am getting ongoing treatment to try and stop me from going blind. i thought somthing was up when i realised i had a floater in my eye and i got it checked asap, if i hadnt i could have when blind for definate! at least with the laser treatment i have a chance of saving my sight!

    theres nothing wrong with the free one's my eyesight got steadily worse now from perfect to this dodgy vision I have now causing me to wear glasses permanently. The free ones also come in teenager designs.

    I got my glasses for only £30 in the end & they would've cost over £120 if I wasn't in full time education @ the time.

    They are some nice matt black framed fcuk jobbies & I like them. But I just wear my contacts instead :D

    maybe its a cataract growing very uncommon in young people but i was born with one and it clouds your vision

    Opticians do specialise in the eye.
    They can't actually do much with them, though, other than prescribe glasses/other vision aids...I think maybe they can prescribe certain drugs, or will be able to in the future.

    A GP is the best bet, as they will be able to refer you to the correct specialist.
