So im 19 and this will be my first time riding a motorbike. I was gonna get a brand new Yamaha DT125 until the online quick quotes for 3rd Party Fire n Theft came up with quotes from £1,300ish all the way to £1,800ish!! That is damned crazy! I looked at a quote for a brand new Gilera Runner Sp125 and it came back in the region of £550. I know its a scooter but come on they are just as likely to get nicked as a DT and its actually a bit faster top end. Any bikers out there wanna share the price they paid for insurance?

My insurance on my RD125 a couple of years a go was £180 3rd party. It was an older bike but even so the quotes you've been given seem horendous.

My advice - get an older bike!!!

My hubby has just had quotes of £84 for TPFF, £220 fully comp for a Sussuki Intruder (sp) 805cc.
Mind he has his full bike license, he is over 40 so there you go :)
