Tuck your shirt in!

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Lads - who of you, when you go out to clubs etc., tuck your shirt in? I know this seems like an odd question, but think about it.

Why do go to the bother of dressing up - wearing a nice shirt and shoes etc. - if you ruin the whole look by leaving your shirt untucked? A tucked-in shirt looks a lot smarter, and doesn't make you look like you are wearing a tent.

What do the girls on here think? Does a guy look smarter if he has his shirt tucked-in or untucked?

Depends on the shirt really. Some are meant to be tucked in, some aren't!

as kaffrin says, it depends on whether you want to look smart or not. for a job interview, tuck shirt in, but for going out for the night, shirt untucked.

tucked in shirts make all men look as if they have a beer belly in my opinion :p

they only look good if you're going the whole hog with suit and tie as well!

Depends on what is being worn - if there's a jacket or tie involved then yes it should be tucked in but if there's no jacket or tie I don't think most people would tuck it in because it just looks wrong. It kind of replaces the way the jacket comes down past the top of the trousers and so looks better.

Totally sexy is when a guy wears a suit, and it gets hot, so he takes the jacket off, and pulls up the sleeves of his shirt and unbuttons the collar.

But yeah, if someone wears an ugly shirt then it might as well stand out, to complete a look it has to be tucked in.

Now on girls, it's a whole other matter.

I'm with Kevlar on this one. Suited and booted - tucked in.

The main aim for me when I'm down the pub, is to relax and socialise. Looking office smart whilst getting pissed up is not a good image - I don't want to look like my Dad just yet!

AND I will NEVER tuck in my shirt whilst wearing a pair of jeans!!

I've got a shirt which goes down to my waist so you can't tuck it in.

Otherwise its a, tuck in , but pull it out a couple of inches.

I love a man who tucks his shirt in. Good sign :) However if the weather was like it is now I wouldn't mind him loosening up a bit ;)

    For whom?
And still, not all fashion designers are completely sane. I could point you to several collections which are dreadful.

i'd rather not give that info away if its all the same. but i design for a medium sized company and we design our own stuff and sometimes design things for other companies as well. (a few popular high street stores)
granted that a lot of designers stuff is very wierd however i have to design stuff that will sell by the thousands where as they probably design stuff to sell maybe 10 of. part of my job is to keep up to date with all the latest trends and fashions and work off of that.
