although america did't start the inital attack it was their foolish actions years before that caused the war,
form the mid 20's americas economy was booming, average ppl were buying shares on the stock market, there was one flaw, ppl bought on "the margin", this meant they were lent the money until they culd pay it off fromv their shares, at the start this was a good idea and prices rose steadily, but 1929 prices rocketed, ppl were beggining to sell at these high prices, by october-november millions of shares were traded in every day, the market crashed, depression spread to europe,in germany, at the time hitler wasn't very popular, why vote for a radical if the economy was goin well?, america demanded the money back it lent germany under the streseman era and therefore germany went bankrupt, inflation rose, hitler took this oppurtunity and gained massive support, using this support he gradually took over germany, i seriously doubt that hitler would have got into power unless the wall street crash happened, hence they started the war.

Actually the German people never voted Hitler into power. His party wasn't even the biggest party in the Reichstag in January 1933. The only reason Hitler got the job was because President Hindenburg appointed Hitler because he was convinced to by his son and a former Chancellor Papen who thought he could control Hitler and wanted to take advantage of Hitler's popularity at the time. At the same time the Communists were more popular than the Nazis so there was just as much chance Germany could have gone Communist in the 1930s except for the fact that the Chancellor was appointed by the President who throughout the Weimar years was a member of the aristocracy. Hitler came about by a huge meeting of lots of different factors which were basically bad luck.

One of these was indeed the effects of the Depression however America didn't demand back the money they had loaned to Germany, it was just that the German economy was so wholly dependent on America for its growth from exports to America and American firms investing in Germany that when America went down they took Germany with them. If you're going to blame America you also have to blame Britain and France who demanded reparations from the Germans with the heaviest payments coming just after the war when the German economy was shot to pieces meaning they couldn't pay the reparations which meant their economy suffered thus stopping it being secure enough to survive the Depression.

There are many reasons why Hitler came to power, you can't just sweep it all together in an American bashing paragraph.

There are many different reasons for the start of WW2 but who could say that if Hiltler didnt come to power there would have been a war, there wouldnt have been a war.

When the Wall Street Crash happened in 1929 America wasnt the only country affected by it as said previously but the German economy got where they were at that time because of America and then again America hit depression and demanded all the money they loaned back, thus creating an unstable Germany, Hitler seen this as a chance to come forward with his ideas, who is going to vote for a government that can't change the depression and here was Hitler: Our Last Hope the german people though so many voted for him so if the wall street crash didnt happen there would be no ww2.

It wasn't just the US that Germany was paying reparations to. They were also paying through the nose to both the UK and France, and I don't recall us being particularly sympathetic to German claims that they were unable to pay the reparations. The US was not alone in imposing the Versailles treaty, so how are they solely to blame for the consequences?

They weren't solely to blame, i know no country took pity on Germany only Britain as they didnt want to impose anything too harsh on Germany as they feared it would lead to greater troubles in the future which they were right.

The US actually wanted to give Germany a fair treaty based on the 14 point system but France had other ideas, they wanted to make Germany crippled and crippled for good.

So no Usa werent solely to blame but they played a significant part in 1929 after the wall street crash.

I think you'll find that the UK's actions were more an attempt to avoid a conflict like WW1.

Hitler's subsequent militaristic approach made that an impossible dream.

What historical research do you base this on?

Or is it solely your own opinion?
