well it is, isn't it? i have said before we are about to witness the end of america as "the" world power. europes turn now, but what of the u.k? these events take on a life of thier own. we in the uk are being forced to now decide, are we with america or europe. i fear if we go with america we'll be finnished in europe and america will walk away from us. on our own. if we go with europe and pull all our troops back, it will be such a humiliation for america that the special relationship will be no more. nato will be no more.
it's all falling apart. we are heading into uncharted waters. chaos beckons.

    i have seen the furure. france and germany are going to be the two biggest players in europe. they, with the use of the united nations, which america will no longer be a member of, will be the new policeman of the world. power is shifting on a massive scale.

    Nah, no need to be so dire. The media may be making out like bandits with all the spin but this too shall pass, hopefully with the passing of the Bush administration in 2004.

    Just do your part to get rid of Blair asap and put someone in who takes the UK's membership and leading role in the EU seriously and perhaps we'll just manage to ride out this current international fiasco.

    NATO would be no more? And?

    NATO was formed to counter Stalin and the USSR. The last time I heard Uncle Joe died years ago and the Soviet Union has fallen. NATO has no genuine threat any more.

    In America, the belief is that America wasn't tough enough with the thugs of the Middle East. Starting with Iran, Jimmy Carter let the Embassy be taken over and hostages held for a year, in Lebanon, almost 300 marines were murdered and we left, in Somalia we were called in to give food aide, Bin Laden sent in his thugs and murdered more US troops and we left. In Saudi Arabia an apartment complex was bombed, American troops died and we pulled back.

    I do think America, France, Germany, Belguim are parting ways for good. Even with the 911 murders still fresh in our minds, the American economy almost had to be slowed down last year for fear of run away inflation and the creation of too many jobs. The last quarter took care of that because of the war talk. We grew at over 3%. The other economy that is doing well is the UK's. The countries fully integrated into the EU are the one's that are barely growing. The truth about France's dealings with Saddam will once and for all put to rest who caused the deaths in the oil for food and medicine program that went into French and Germany pockets instead of medicine.

    Iraq is going to be a war lasting a few weeks. When it's over America and the UK will be able to listen-in even better on terrorist communications in Syria and Iran. And plans for an independent, unarmed Palestine can start to move forward. Al Qaeda will be relieved of one of its best recruitment tactics.
