one of my friends sent me a virus over msn (not deliberately!), it was a file called "desktop shooting", pretending to be a game.....
i looked it up on the mcafee website and it said that its a worm and it said all the files that it created, and the line it made in the registry, so i deleted all of those files and removed the line that it made in the registry, so will that get rid of it????
my virus check programme is slightly out of date so it didnt recognise it, so i thought id try and deal with it myself before paying to upgrade it....
(i know i should stop being cheep and pay for an update but anyway)
thanks!

I use that. It's a free online check. If it does find a virus there's a cleaning program as part of it, but it's not very good, so i tend to go to mcafee and see how to deal with it. Usually I've just gotta delete the files.
Not that I get viruses all the time or anything =/
