As a 20yr old, I know what you mean. The age sounds so official and horrifying 😂 like I’m in my 20s now, I’m actually an adult. I don’t feel like it, I don’t act like it, I feel miles behind, and I have no idea what I’m going to do with my life. I think most people feel similar tbh

I cling to the whole thing about how your brain isnt fully developed until at least 25, so… biologically I’m not really truly all grown up yet 😂

@PetiteQuark I understand and felt similar when I turned 20, I was at college still at that age and people were younger but not much changes turning 19 to 20. I know it can be overwhelming turning from technically a teenager which is still an adult to 20 which might feel like a "full adult" kind of thing and I understand it might be scary, I'm sure you'll be fine. 20 is still very very young. Also you aren't even 19 so I think just take things day by day, when I was your age, I was similar , worried about pressure of different ages but I know it can be hard but try to take things day by day even every minute by minute rather than worrying about too far ahead, even though it's completely valid to just worry further down the line, its hard not to but please try not to get yourself under stress over it, you're still you and are still a teenager for a while yet. Remember, we are here if you need anything.

Hey @PetiteQuark , thank you so much for making this post, and for sharing so honestly with us. It sounds like you're not alone in feeling the way you do about the idea of growing older, and it sounds really hard to have that feeling of being 'behind' and for their to be so much uncertainty about what will happen next and how.

Would you feel comfortable sharing some more with us about that feeling of being 'behind' - what makes you feel that way?

We're here with you to listen without any judgement!

Idk how exactly to put it but i dont really feel like an adult, and there was stuff i wanted to do when i was younger but didn't have the chance to do, and/or didn't even have the choice, ive missed out alot, ive also made really risky and impulsive decisions and went through things whilst others were basically having fun. Also i just don't feel ready for everything rlly, i dont feel like an adult, ive missed out on alot especially due to (diagnosed)depression and that made me do impulsive and stupid things.

sometimes i wish i could be like 15/16 forever but obviously this is real life you cant stop time lol.

Im gonna be 19 really soon and i wont lie it is a bit scary.

I also felt the same way especially after turning 18 for me because it just felt like time definitely flew by and sometimes I look back and wish I did things differently. But I realised that eventhough being in your 20's can definitely be terrifying at times it can also be a time to explore because in my eyes your still young. I totally know that feeling @PetiteQuark because I also don't feel really like an adult (really im 16/18 in my head).
