Cuts to the health element of uc is abelist and problematic

I've not made a discussion in a good while but wanted to vent about the cuts to new LCWRA claimants, which start in April. Only those who have terminal or severe and lifelong illnesses will get the higher rate. A lot of conditions, including the one I have, aren't seen as lifelong (even though they are most of the time) and are misunderstood. The cuts are seen as an incentive to stop people from staying on benefits and encourage them to work. The only things the cuts will achieve are making those who can't work full time or at all worse off financially. I dread to think about what will happen when i'm eventually reassessed and if I'm found LCWRA again, that i'll be worse off than i am now.

Could not agree more. It actually puts me off going off of benefits bc then if i need to go back on, i will be much worse off
