Having a baby!

I am 16 and pregnant. I’m 20 weeks gone and my parents know too. Neither of us can believe that I am going to give birth in a matter of months.

My boyfriend and I had con sexual sex but we our contraceptive failed. I am now going to have baby. I am really scared.

firstly congratulations, as my dad always says, there are worse things than a little baby - meaning it can really be the making of some people.

I think it’s natural to be scared though - it’s a massive life change particularly at your age. Have your family been supportive? I’m wondering if the boyfriend is still in the picture and supporting you too? It takes a village to raise a baby, I hope you have lots of support around you right now.

Thanks. My family have been really supportive so far. Mum can’t believe that I am pregnant so young. My boyfriend has been on the picture but he and I have had a lot of arguments about my pregnancy.

I’m glad they’ve been supportive @lillbet16 that makes such a difference. It’s a massive change for both yourself and your boyfriend so I would imagine some arguments would be expected, but only you know the dynamics of your relationship and whether you feel that is sustainable.

It was. a big shock we weren’t planning on having a baby now. I am worried that I won’t manage when it is time for me to give birth.
