  • so I have so many files from being in care however I have only access to a few.
  • a blue folder which has introductions to my now family
  • a Red folder from my main foster home
  • A kids multi coloured hardback file which has my story in brief which was made by my social worker for if I wanted to read it as a little kid so it has children’s wording and terminology
  • I have a box with a bit of my stuff that I brought with me when I moved over here. But they don’t have much in cos all I brought with me was a llama plushie, anxious the elephant from haven and a jewellery box and 2 pictures
  • however my main file with in-depth social services reports, police reports, pictures of our abuse etc is only available to me when I’m 21, I want my main file just so then I can get the full truth from all the filed reports etc
  • there’s also 3 articles online about the night we went into care however one of them has vanished….idk what happened to it

Hey @River, thanks for sharing this with us today. It sounds like you're feeling a little stressed about the files from being in care, and only having access to a few. These being introductions to your now family, information from your main foster home and your own personal story, as well as a few possessions that you brought with you when you moved. How do you feel about having all of these files I wonder?

I'm hearing that not having access to your main file until you're 21 is something that's bothering you, which is completely understandable as it can be difficult not knowing what's in there. In terms of the one online article that seems to have vanished, is there anyone you could ask about that, to be able to understand what happened to it?

hey @Callum my files I have are okay but I really want my main one

I’ve looked everywhere for it. There three articles are on BBC, daily mail and sky news but the daily mail one wich was very graphic has gone. I don’t even know how I’d try and find it

@River this probably won't work, but if you know the name of the article, you could maybe try and use the internet archive to find it maybe, even if it's been removed or something by daily mail?

    it’s not showing up @Nathan

Hey @River, it's understandable that you really want your main file, and are concerned about the one online article going missing. It seems that the Daily Mail might have taken the article down now if you can't find it. From what you said about it being very graphic, that may have been the reason (though I could be wrong about that!). Is this something that's bothering you, the one being removed?

hey @Callum maybe but the article is from 2011

it’s just out of all 3 of them that one was the most accurate one, the others have a lot that doesn’t add up

@River might it be worth contacting the daily mail, via an anonymous email if you want to remain anonymous, and ask them to either put it back up, or for screenshots of the article?
