Period pains

CutelivejazzCutelivejazz Posts: 288 The Mix Regular
I cant do this anymore i dont know where else to go abt this but I cant handle this anymore. I got my first period when i was 12 ever since then almost every month (thanks to me having the most random cycle so i can never predict it) I feel like im dying. Im in so much pain and its unbareable like to the point where I physically cant stay standing i dont even know how to describe the pain its just unbareable. I've been to my GP twice they gave me naproxen (a strong prescription painkiller) which doesnt do shit I mean tbh its reduced my flow i bleed less but its dobe nothing for the pain im waiting for my ultrasound appointment i got it but I was abroad on holiday and they said the wait is abt 20 weeks like im sorry? So i basically have to feel like im fucking dying almost every month with no solution. Idek what to do. I cant describe how awful the pain is ive literally been sent home from school many times bc of it like i cant sleep from how much pain im in. I was put on birth control for a while so i didnt get my period during exams but i got break through bleeding which sucked (thankfully it was during the obe week holiday) my period ended up lasting 9 days but the doctor said it was normal idk I feel like im running out of options im just praying the ultrasound shows something. I also had a blood test done everything was normal but my iron was a little below normal so ive been taking supplements (tbh explains the dizziness i get) anyways sorry for that rant just in a lot of pain 😭

Hey @Cutelivejazz it’s best to speak to your doctor as they can assess you and maybe prescribe a specific medication. I had a similar issue and they gave me a certain pain med for it

    Hey Jazz

It really is awful isn't it? I really feel for you.

My periods were never incredibly painful, but they were so heavy that I'd feel really dizzy and even fainted once. And irregular to the point it would either be 3 weeks between them, or 2 months (there was no in between).

What eventually helped me was going on the combined pill. While I do still have a regular period they are nowhere near what they were before. I still get cramps but it doesn't take over my life anymore, and I know exactly when it's coming.

If you're medically able to, it might be worth a try. Yes it's a sticking plaster and doesn't give you answers, but it gave me my life back to be honest.

    Hello Jazz it’s Echo here.
I’m really sorry to hear how overwhelming this is. It sounds like you’ve been doing everything you can but nothing seems to ease the pain. There is nothing to apologise for at all and I wish you didn’t have to go through this.
While you wait for your appointment, gentle movement, heat packs and medication may help although proper medical care should be given and your concerns should be taken seriously,
You deserve relief, support and answers, and it’s okay to ask for help as much as you need. We’re here for you, and you don’t have to face this alone. I really hope you can find some relief soon and finally get through this without feeling like you’re in so much pain every month.
