Hey everyone,

We’re excited to introduce a new space here on Community called 'Signpost Shoutouts' where each week we’ll shine a light on a different self-care app, charity, organisation, or resource available across the UK. The aim is to help you discover the amazing range of support out there to boost your mental health and wellbeing!

Every week, we’ll feature:
  • The name of a different resource
  • A quick overview of what it offers
  • Who it’s designed to support
  • How you can access help or get involved

We’ll be covering a wide range of themes, from anxiety, depression, and stress, to housing, employment, sexuality, gender, education, and money matters, because wellbeing looks different for everyone.

We can’t wait to kick off this series, share these brilliant resources with you, and hear your thoughts on each one as we go.

    APART OF ME - https://www.apartofme.org/

    What it is:
Apart of Me is a UK-based charity & safe space designed for young people who are grieving someone they love. It offers free, specially designed tools and apps to help young people explore grief in their own time and way. Everything is co-designed with young people, so it aims to reflect what actually helps.

    Who it’s for:
Young people who are going through loss, whether a parent, friend, partner, or someone else close.
Also for anyone affected by grief who wants to connect with others in similar situations, or wants resources made with young people in mind.

It may be particularly useful for those who like creative expression, peer support, and tools that allow processing emotions at their own pace.

What resources & services it offers:
Apps / Games: For example, Apart of Me app, a kind of interactive game where you explore a magical island, meet characters, and process emotions around grief.

Nadiya App: Another tool designed to help families work through grief together, gently guiding them through challenging experiences.

Peer Support: “Guide Me” is a peer-led programme — young people who’ve experienced loss offering support, sharing stories, walking alongside others.

Creative / Reflective Resources: These include “Letters to Adults” (writing letters to help adults understand grief through young people’s eyes), “Photos of Hope”, “Forest of Feelings”, “This is Normal”, “Support and Safety”, and more. These help with expressing feelings, connecting with others, and finding comfort through shared experience.

Community & Expression: A space to share your own story, art, letters, or photos; to see what has helped others; to feel less alone.

Have you, or someone you know, ever tried Apart of Me? If so, what did you think? Is this a resource you might like to check out or reccomend?
