Hi everyone,
It’s that time of year again when many of you will be heading back to school after the long summer break. For some, it feels exciting to get back into a routine or see friends again. For others, the thought of going back can bring up nerves or feel a bit overwhelming. However you’re feeling, this is a space to talk it through and support each other.

What are you most looking forward to this year?
Is there anything you’re feeling anxious about?
If school is behind you, what advice or tips would you give to others who are starting a new term?

Whether you want to share worries, hopes, or even funny “first week back” stories, this thread is the place for it. We hope the transition goes smoothly for you all!

I'm starting year 11, feeling pretty terrified. The last term of year 10 was spent zoning out all day long and literally hardly talking because my brain had just had enough, I guess. So I'm really anxious about going back and just falling behind again. Plus it's GCSEs this year. Although it will be nice to see friends and teachers again

Hey Spiky! Understandable year 11 can be quite dauting with all the exams! Although you may have already started doing them? But yes sounds like you are finding it quite challenging. I;m wondering if there is there any support at your school you can access to help with focus and concentration?

There is support I think but it's really difficult for me to bring up with the school because I've always done well at school (good marks etc) and everyone seems to expect me to just keep it up? But my mental health feels like it just keeps deteriorating, CAMHS waitlist is endless and yet the school/everyone around me still believe I'm coping just fine and they'd obviously be really shocked to hear the truth. I don't know, I'm overthinking it. But it's really daunting to bring up with them. Right now, I think I'm going to try and survive the first couple of days and if it's really hard I'll try to brave a conversation with my form tutor.

Just wanted to say good luck to everyone going back to school, starting new schools etc.

Whether you've already gone back or start later on this week - hopefully you have a good first week back and it sets the term off on a positive foot :3
