Feeling down

As you know, I’ve been looking for my first proper job for a while now, trying to find something manageable day to day, maybe in a store or warehouse. Searching for the right role can be stressful and overwhelming. Even though I’ve been actively applying and following up, I still feel like my family constantly compares me to others, and even little comments can get to me. Yesterday I was feeling okay, but then my mum said I have no purpose yesterday; she calls me useless constantly, and she’s not the only family member who puts me down like that. I already feel like I have no purpose, and hearing it again makes me feel even more alone. I vented about it, but I still can’t sleep and I struggle every day, stuck at home and bored with these comments being said, because it’s not like it’s from people I could easily cut off, it’s from my family. I struggle everyday to sleep like now Im just rolling round on my bed because I can't sleep then I feel shit during the day too then get these comments.

At home, it’s frustrating because everyone else is busy with their own work or studies, and even though I help around the house when I can, conversations often revolve around my job search, which makes it stressful. I don’t do anything to harm anyone, and being out of work while looking for a job isn’t bad, but it can feel like everyone makes it seem that way. I often feel lonely, especially during the day when support isn’t available, and even with some help, it can feel like I’m facing my struggles alone, from my interests to relationships to everyday life. Society can feel very judgmental, and being without a job makes it even harder because there are expectations I feel I haven’t met. Sometimes these thoughts get heavy, and I just wish things felt different.

@Redemption It's not right for them to be saying those things to you. I know how hard you are trying and they should be able to see that.
I am so sorry you are experiencing it. Family are supposed to be the ones that are always there for you, always support you.

I can see how hard you work, don't give up, I know you will get there.

I know how society today makes things a lot harder for you and others too, society has created all these expectations that are not realistic. Everyone is living a very different life to each other so all these 'expectations' will be achieved at different times for everyone. And some of them may not ever be achieved by some people and that's okay.
