Lights on or off?

When your having sex do you prefer the lights on or off? I definately prefer them off but the guys Ive been with tend to prefer the lights on. I hate doing it with the lights on. The other day we had to come to a compromise as the guy wanted the lights on as he said that he likes to see what he's shagging, but I wanted the lights off so in the end we had the bedroom door open so that the hall light was shining through! :rolleyes:

Dont know why but I always thought that most people prefered the lights off but obviuosly not??

    I agree with you that most men perfer to have the lights on because they like to see you!! I don't mind myself, because luckily I'm "comfortable" with my body!

    I think that candles are a lot more sexy though!!;)

    Lights on when I'm with a new girl, How else am I going to know my way round her body!!

    Plus you need to see what you’re doing.

    I've never tried it with lights off, I guess it could be fun

    I like to look at the girls face as well, Its bit hard with the lights off! :p

    i prefer lights off before i no the person well enough to be comfortable with them, but after that it doesnt really matter lights on or off depends if in the heat of the moment if either of us can be bothered to go to the light switch!

    Im not really that happy with my body so Id say lights out!! Not completely though.

    But what is sensual;) is having the curtains open slightly open and having some light from the street lamp shining in the room.

    Or Dark room and the telly on, barely heard. And yeah agree with misse83 candles.

    I'd go with misse83's suggestion and use candles (or white fairy lights) for subtle lighting.

    Nothing like watching the warm glow of candlelight flickering on glistening skin.

    Gotta second Bandit's opinion here!

    After all, girls all over the world seem to wonder constantly why guys like watching porn, frankly we are visual creatures who require the sight as well as the sounds and smell of a steamy romp. If we can't see the goodies we obviously find such a turn on then what's the point of evn bothering.

    Of course, I think this is just another indication of those who are ready for mature intimacy and those who aren't.

    Yep, candles are great, create a nice atmosphere and stuff. Guys do seem to prefer to have the lights on, but sometimes doing it in the dark can make it more intense because you can't see each other properly so you concentrate more on how the both of you feel than look. Helps you relax more as well if you're not that confident about your body...

    I have never had a 1 night stand (im a little angel :D ) BUT i like both if it wasa one night stand i would feel almost dirty (dont know why but i feel a relationship is for love) When with my boyfriend i like both its nice when it is day to of course be able to see what we are doing but in the night why have the lights on it adds to the excitement yes its nio see your partner but ive been with mine a year i know what he looks like its nice for a bit of fun :D

    Subtle lighting, candles are sexy. With them off its hard to see what your doing, but with them full on its not very, well romantic :D

    i dont care either way...sometimes with the lights off, we'll leave the tv on but with no sound. lights up the room with a cool blue colour.

    i normally prefer the lights off but its not because i dont want to see my partner its because im self concience. Also having the lights off also seems to highten the sense of feeling and plessure

    I like having the lava lamp on, there is something very sexy about seeing my boyfriend with blue and green lights shining on him. But a lot of the time we have sex during the day so it's not like we have much choice!

    Nothing wrong with lights on!

    After all, if you let someone DO all that with you, you shouldn't be all too worried about them SEEING you...
    Or what do you think is more intimate - having sex with sb or letting them see that wobbly blotchy patch on your thigh?

    (with the possible exception of when he or she is so pissed they would shag a duvet if it panted :p - better have the lights off in that case)

    So don't worry - if they're affectionate enough to go to bed with you they're unlikely to be put off by that slight imperfection you're so worried about.
    And after all, we're not talking blue-coloured surgical lights here, are we? Again, nothing more flattering than soft warm candlelight...

    Hmmmmm...... probing around in the darkness is quite nice as well, though! Gives you new ideas about your partner's body and all...
    so I guess all I wanted to say was: Don't be afraid of the light!
