Hey so I have a question about crime stoppers but I’m wondering if it’s maybe based on like what type of incident your reporting?

Basically my question is, what happens if you report something on crime stoppers but you put your details in instead of reporting anonymously?

Normally I report anonymously but I think this time might have to with my details? I’m not sure maybe it depends on topic but I’d rather not say the topic publicly sorry

Hey @River , just to clarify, am I right in hearing that you would really like to report something to Crimestoppers, and you're eager to provide your personal details to support the report, but you're unsure what will happen if you do?

You're right that Crimestoppers will not ask for your name, gender, or age, and they will not record any personal details you might mention. However, I can imagine that if you DO wish to share personal details, you would be allowed to.

Another option for non-anonymous reporting might be to dial 101 - the police's non-emergency number.

How are you feeling emotionally about making this report, or the situation more broadly? Sounds like quite a lot of responsibility, and we're thinking of you!

Hey @Sian321 i made the report with them but only gave them my first name and email and phone number though I’m not sure there gonna do anything though which sucks but I can’t say the situation in here or yous will phone the police I think and I’d rather not especially when I’m about to go on holiday, I just need a break and control atm

@River , thank you for sharing - it sounds like a precarious situation, and you're trying to get help and support which is really positive. Can I check that you yourself are feeling personally safe?

@River thank you for letting us know. That's positive to hear, though it sounds like perhaps you've been looking out for someone else who is struggling to keep safe, which can be a deeply stressful and worrying time.

No pressure at all to share details - but we're here if you'd like to talk about the emotions this situation might be bringing up for you.

@Sian321 no it’s something else which don’t think crimestoppers are doing anything about it but oh well

@River that sounds frustrating! You might also want to try Victim Support as well as your local Citizens Advice Bureau.
