Update from me

Lili5BetLili5Bet Community Connector Posts: 164 Helping Hand
Hey everyone, it’s been a while!!

I’m now at my new home and going very well. Although, I’ve unfortunately dislocated my shoulder pretty badly, so I’ve been spending some time in hospital and could have a possible procedure done which I’m terrified for if it does have to happen at some point. I’ve also now been diagnosed with PTSD, and I’m on new medications. So much has happened but I can’t type much with one hand 😅. Hope you’re all well!!

Hey @Lili5Bet long time no see! Lovely to hear you're at your new home and it's all going well but dislocating your shoulder is very unfortunate! I hope you recover well and feel better soon!

How are you feeling about being diagnosed with PTSD and being on new medications? No rush to reply either - take your time with your one useable hand!

Hey @Katie ! Lovely to hear from you!

Thank you so much, my support lodger is lovely and I’ve been very much welcomed into the family, which Is such a special gift to finally have. Yeah 😅 it’s excruciatingly painful, I’m not allowed to move it, and I’ll have to have physio (again 😫) and see the upper limb specialist..which is interesting? I’ve never heard of them before. I only fell a little but because of my CP and bad joints anyway it’s made it worse.
    Thank you!

At first, it felt weird and it’s taken a lot out of me. But I’m slowly coming to terms with it. I guess it just feels weird, I thought it would feel different but I guess you don’t know until you’re actually diagnosed with it I suppose. New meds are helping and it’s going well. Although my sleep meds (even though are helping me to go to sleep) I can’t stay asleep..which is very annoying..but these light nights aren’t helping. Neither my shoulder too!

Ahaha, thank you, I’m slowly becoming use to it but it’s a long of hand work so it takes a lot of time 😂. I have also got the news that the police dropped my case about my bio dad due to lack of evidence as there’s no witnesses..😖 so I’ve been trying to sort that out and exhausting every option as I can’t just let this go…

There’s been a lot of things and it’s been pretty draining! My bio mum and I aren’t talking at all now and we have no contact in any way. She’s not wanting to give my passport unless she sees me (which isn’t happening) so she’s been trying to use that to get to me. We’re trying to sort that out too..it’s been so hard. But my social worker hasn’t been exactly helpful with getting anything done, and I found out that I was supposed to have an education meeting back in Feb which never happened! My support lodger and her team are trying to push things along but it’s getting quite stressful. But good news, I treated myself to a new JellyCat 😝

(This message is way longer than I anticipated 😅)

    hey @Lili5Bet 🙂

aw i’m really glad to hear you’re settling into your new home and that things are going well overall – that’s such a big and positive step! i’m so sorry to hear about your shoulder though, that sounds incredibly painful. i can totally understand being scared about the possibility of a procedure, that’s a lot to deal with on top of everything else.

the ptsd diagnosis and new meds, that’s a big shift, and i hope they start helping in time. you have already been through a lot, and you’re still pushing forward - i’m so proud of you for that!

sending lots of virtual hugs your way <3
