i have 38 notifications from childline how am i supposed to answer them?

    I suppose many of them will be notifications from threads you have followed, so not all will need an answer. I'm sure I left my account with a similar number when I left all those years ago lol

    the threads i follow are mostly roleplay threads, hence why i have so many notifications. i kinda have to answer them as if i dont people will ask where i went. so therefore i just answered one of the roleplay threads saying that ill take an indefinite break. im still waiting for it to get approved.

    What’s it like on there these days anyways? I have a look sometimes. It seems quieter than when I left it which is kinda sad, though I did leave a while ago now

    its quieter than it was when i first joined back in 2023 thats for sure. i was on a different account before i had my first psychotic episode and got rid it just before i had it since i wanted a fresh start on childline after i came out of it. this was at the cusp of me being not psychotic and psychotic so i kinda knew it was going to happen. well not really but you get what i mean. childline is kind of dead now from what it was two years ago. i mean thats not a large period of its existence whatsoever but there are less active threads. i only really use childline on the message boards to talk to others and to roleplay with them. and in terms of the service as a whole its alright i guess. there are some good childline counsellors, some okay ones and some bad ones who look like theyre using a script. the other day i waited for 50 minutes on the phone for a childline counsellor to pick up and no one answered :skull: so i used samaritans instead.

    It’s certainly a shame that it was quieter. When I first joined in 2014 it was a hub of activity! I see the 1-1 chats are just as busy though, I’m glad you find some of them helpful.

    i wish my 6 year old self found out about childline lol. yeah the 1-to-1 chats are still pretty active.

    I think I found you on childline a while ago lol. I dont know what’s wrong with it because I’m almost 20 and it still lets me post messages. Sometimes I pop on there and try to help people out because I think it’s so sad when they don’t get a response

    It would still let me post if I wanted to, but there is a flag on my account now that I’m over 19. It says it in my locker, so idk if it would get through.

    yeah its pretty sad. im surprised you think that you found me, i have a way different username on childline than i do on here.

    i see. i imagine that it wouldnt get through due to safeguarding reasons for that when youre over 19 youre technically not a child anymore hence the word child in childline. they give you one extra year when you were 18 to adjust to different services i suppose.
