i dont need you anymore
you were the voice that guided me
that said "you cant come back"
or "youre dead"
you scared me
you made me feel like shit
that everyone was after me
my teachers
my classmates
my friends
hell even my family

i named you gertrude
because i disliked that name
before then you called me ED
not toffuna, not my real name
just ED
you treated me like shit
you made everyone turn against me
you made everyone shit talk about me
until there was nothing left
and i was left to rot
in a hospital bed
for what seemed like forever

bye gertrude
i dont need you in my life
you dont define me
you arent me
and you will never be
me
because no matter what
i will still be me
and i will be free
of you and my psychosis
after all
you are only a voice in my head
