I'm so upset and I'm thinking of renouncing my faith at this point

Tw: mention of rapist's
Hey guys, sorry it's been a bit again but hi.
Now for all that have known me long enough here know I'm a chosen Christian. I took it up in year eleven as it helped me with my Nana's sudden death and bullying.
Now I'm what I call a modern Christian. I'm not like that whole if you're gay you go to Hell stuff and will never force it on others but then I see comments in gay videos or trans videos saying all this stuff and I actually get upset because it's not what Christianity is about at all. Yes back in the day that used to be the narrative but it's not anymore.
It upsets me because it's people like that that hide behind the Bible to justify being homophobic or trans phobic or just plain rude. It's the ones that say stuff like forgive your rapist because "thow shall forgive our trespassers" stuff. Those ones are why people don't like Christians and why we get mocked a lot.
I love my faith but at the same time I'm scared to continue with it because of how deep I'm seeing the hate get for us. My religion is getting ruined and it's starting to feel ruined but honestly I don't know what I'll do if I lose it.
I guess I'm just lost scared and confused
Sorry if this was a bit of a mess ❤️❤️

It sounds like you’re in a trick position mentally when it comes to your religion and faith and the perceptions the world has on it. I think a lot of us have seen the type of people you mention, that use religion as an excuse to be trans/homophobic when in reality it isn’t the case. Although not religious myself anymore, I was brought up Christian, went to Christian schools etc, and I think the ultimate message people should have is to love everyone, and that it isn’t up to us to judge how others live their lives.
Whilst it can be hard to ignore outside noise, I think what matters most is your personal relationship with God or your faith and beliefs. I know there can be an almost perceived image and judgement people make when saying ‘oh I’m a Christian’, but at the end of the day you don’t owe anyone an explanation or anything regarding your religion. There are so many different ways of explaining your faith, whether you say you’re Christian, simply just say ‘oh im religious’ or anything else. It’s a personal thing for you and your religion.
It is okay to feel a bit lost and confused with the situation, and for many, faith and religion is a journey that can change and develop overtime, so try not to put too much pressure on yourself to have all the answers right now. And whatever decisions you come to regarding your faith, we’re all here supporting you just like always.
We’re always here for you – and sending you a big hug

first of all, there is no need to apologise - it wasn’t a mess at all, in fact, it was really honest, and i admire you for speaking from the heart like that!
i can see how much your faith means to you and how it’s helped you through really painful times. it’s awful that something so personal and healing is being overshadowed by people who twist it to spread hate. you are absolutely right, using religion to justify cruelty completely goes against what it’s meant to be about - love, compassion, and understanding.
you have every right to be both proud of your beliefs and heartbroken by the way others are misrepresenting them. that doesn’t make you any less of a christian, it actually makes you a kinder, stronger one. it’s okay to feel lost sometimes. faith isn’t about always having the answers, sometimes it’s about holding on through the confusion.
you’re not alone in this, and i really hope you don’t let other people’s hate make you give up on something that’s brought you peace.
we’re all here for you lucy
