medication and doctors being a waste of space.

i am so so sick of being on medication that doesn’t help. it does absolutely nothing for me, and if anything i feel worse rather than better.

before commenting anything back to me on this post, the way my doctors works is same day appointments only. you phone in the morning and if there’s no appointments you then phone back the next morning and keep repeating until you finally win the war for an appointment. do NOT try and advise me to ask for an advance appointment or whatever please as i cannot do that due to how my doctors operates. thank you.

i requested medication last week as im running out of it, i asked for it to be reviewed - bare in mind it should be reviewed every 3 months anyways but its like asking for the winning lottery ticket trying to get the doctors to actually review it - i had requested it before 9:30am and then got a text saying to call back after 2pm. i called back to be told “triage closed at 10:30am so phone next week” which pissed me off and i literally requested it before triage closed so why the fuck did they not bother giving me an appointment for a review with a doctor then?

anyways phoned this morning and after missing part of my class and spending half my morning in the queue i was advised to keep the line free and watch for the call from the doctors then, well what happened? about 10 mins later doctors phone me to tell me “triage closed at half 10 so if you just call back tomorrow” i literally spoke to them at 10 to fucking 10. i was on the phone speaking to a receptionist 40 mins before triage closed and whenever they said triage closed at 10:30am, it was literally 10:01am so they actually talk shite. long story short, told to call back tomorrow again. i don’t care. i’m done. i give up.

the first call this morning pissed me off so much too as the receptionist goes to me “so does the dosage need increased” like sorry am i the fucking doctor? no, i am not funny enough. she also responded to me with “do you need the medication reviewed” when i said “can i get the medication reviewed” like wtf.

i emailed them to inform them just so they’re in the loop that i am stopping the medication and i don’t give a shit about the fact that’s not a good idea to do.

    Hi hi!!

Sounds like you're being really failed by your GP surgery at the moment, and there are lots of inconsistencies in what they say which seems like it makes the situation double annoying for you. You have listened to all of their points and tried to follow their directions so that they can help you but they are still not hearing you and providing you with the service you need, so it makes a lot of sense that you would feel completely done with them all.

I know that GPs can be tricky for people because of their narrow time windows and times they're open etc, which could feel like it might give you a lack of control over the situation, does that sound fair? Does it maybe feel like the only thing you have control over in this situation at the moment is choosing to stop taking them, almost like they're giving you no other choice?

It wouldn't be a permanent fix, but I am wondering if you would be able to call 111 for an emergency prescription as you have tried through your GP but they are not providing you with it and thus have run out?

You're doing great to keep trying to reach out despite these failings from professionals, because I assure you that you do deserve the sufficient help for everything you are going through

Have you had any further contact or response from them following your email to them?

That sounds so hard and incredibly fustrating! Honestly I admire your perseverance.

I can't believe your surgery operates like that- only on day I thought it was enforced guidelines for gp surgeries to offer both pre booked and in day.

Yes, try 111, definitely explain the situation.
Would walk in health centres be any good- I'm not to sure in this prescription thing but they might be able to advise, review. Most they will say no or you'll get through to someone decent who will support you or sort better support for you from your surgery.

You sound upset with the way or working and it doesn't sound as if it is supporting your Healthcare needs the way it should be and deserve to be, can you look into registering elsewhere ad a mire longer term solution.
