Hi everyone!

Off tha back of our latest Saturday Topic Thread today which centered all around the theme of: Building Confidence and Self-Esteem, I wanted to create a little thread here when we can continue the conversation if we wish and support one another! :star:
  • Do you ever struggle to feel confident in yourself?
  • What knocks your self-esteem? What helps you believe in yourself?
  • When was the last time you felt truly confident in yourself, a decision, or a feeling? What was that like to experience?!
  • What's one piece of advice you would give to someone else who is doubting themselves?

We'd love to know and have a conversation!

If you are looking for more information around the topics of self-esteem and confidence, I'll share some resources below:

ooo what a good topic. personally i think i can be quite a quiet and anxious person, and so confidence isn't something that comes easy to me. even if i know realistically that certain things i should have confidence in myself with, there's always little seeds of doubt questioning myself.

i think in terms of believing in myself, surrounding myself with positive people like my best friends really helps. having other people remind me of my skills and my worth can be a real motivating factor for me. or doing little things for myself to boost my mood, which usually has a knock-on affect on my confidence. the happier i feel, the more confident i tend to be

and as for my one piece of advice for those doubting themselves - "if you never try you'll never know" - things can either go well and be amazing, or go a bit sideways and be a learning experience. it's all about what we do to keep going.

can't wait to see other views on this topic - as its an area that affects all of us in one way or another :3

@sinead276 , I love this! Thank you so much for sharing your tips and for opening up about what its like to feel those little seeds of doubt too.

Surrounding yourself with people who are true cheerleaders is such a great piece of advice, as well as holding onto that "if you never try, you'll never know" mentality. That feels really liberating - letting go of expectations about a specific outcome and just freeing yourself up to try. That's beautiful.

I think for me, a piece of advice that I would give to someone doubting themselves is 'do it scared'. It's okay to feel anxious or afraid or nervous. Giving yourself permission to do the thing anyway and to show up exactly as you are, rather than having to be 'perfect!

Would love to hear others tips too! :star:
