cant shower again :(

RiverRiver Community Connector Posts: 4,951 The Mix Elder
I need to shower because its been like 2-3 weeks and my hair is so greasy that it practically stands on its own and looks weird after brushing. I cant face showering and I know its gross but its just so hard and no one truly knows what happened to me because its really against guidelines but now 3 year old me just has that lasting effect of being scared of water

    hey @Rose113 🙂

i’m really sorry you’re feeling this way. i know showering can be really tough sometimes, especially when there’s deeper stuff tied to it. you’re not gross, and you’re not alone in this.

maybe you could start with something small, like just washing your face or using a wet cloth on your skin, whatever feels manageable. if you ever want to talk about what happened (or just need a distraction), we are all here for you, no judgment at all.

    proud of you <3

hi @Rose113 just wanted to say hope you're feeling okay. i completely agree with what Shannon has said. you aren't gross for it at all. you've been through so much and it's okay that hurdles pop up every now and again. it doesn't make you any less amazing of a person.

remember to take things one step at a time. find something small that may feel managable. like shannon said using a wet cloth or a face wipe could be a start. and if you don't feel up to getting in the shower to wash your hair yet, perhaps some dry shampoo could be a part-time solution (if you've got any that is). whatever step you take, and however long it takes to make it - know that we are so so proud of you.
