overthinking

toffuna101toffuna101 Posts: 2,225 Boards Champion
i dont know why but every time i post something on a thread or make a post i always overthink. im like "did i say something right?" or "did i mess up?" when in reality most of the time i dont mess up or i dont try to anyways. on the occasion i do mess up i always feel guilty but i know that im human too. its been happening since i came back on the mix and im wondering if anyone is going through the same thing. i always have to double or even triple check a post to see if i made a mistake or anything.

i always think this so your not alone. but every time you have replied to me i appreciate everything you say to me <3. your a rly kind friend to many here and i appreciate everything you have done for me. <3
ppl dont always need advice. sometimes all they rly need is a hand to hold. an ear to listen. and a heart to understand them. 🧸

This is so relatable, maybe you are having it just because you have been gone for a bit and I do it anyway, chats as well as here. I've seen a few of your recent, posts, stuff, can't fault anything it's just literally just overthinking.

yeah. maybe i shouldnt have had a break from the mix but at the same time i needed it. and even before i took a break i was overthinking as well. but that was a year back when my psychosis was beginning and part of psychosis is being paranoid. i think everyone overthinks at some point, especially online. some people just have it worse than others.

If you needed it, that what was best for you then you should have took it. Don't worry, you're all good. That's probably right, I was saying it myself the other day, I think everyone over thinks, some less and some more, either way it's completely OK.

    hey @toffuna101 🙂

that makes a lot of sense, and i totally get why you feel that way. overthinking, especially online, is so common, it’s easy to get caught up in worrying about how things come across, even when there’s nothing wrong with what you said. when you’ve been through tough times, it makes sense that those feelings might be even stronger!

i think taking a break was is completely ok to do - if you needed a break that is totally fine, even if coming back has been an adjustment. it sounds like you’re really self aware about what’s going on, which is a good thing, even if it doesn’t always make it easier. you’re right, everyone overthinks at some point, and some people just struggle with it more than others, but you’re not alone in this, and you don’t have to figure it out all on your own either.

if it helps, just remind yourself that no one expects perfection, and the people who care about you aren’t going to judge you for small mistakes, or even notice them most of the time.

you’re doing your best, and that’s enough - i’m proud of you <3

@Sian321 like saying the wrong things by mistake or reacting to a post inappropriately.

I hear what you're saying, @toffuna101 , and it sounds like you want to be really mindful and sensitive about how you're using this space and showing up for others, which is really thoughtful.
