Hey everyone,

General Chat will unfortunately be closed tonight.

Support Chat will be running as usual.

Thank you all for your patience as we work to resolve issues with our rota and team capacity. We can understand how frustrating it might feel recently with us having to cancel chats frequently. Unfortunately, based on the mods we have available and cancellations on the day, it takes us some time to assess what chats we can open safely each evening. This means sometimes we aren't able to pop an announcement on the boards until we can confirm what chats we can safely run. We appreciate it is disappointing seeing these announcements, and we do make sure we announce as soon as we can.

Please know we are looking into solutions and timelines for opening up recruitment, as well as staff stepping in where they can to cover. We hear you and I promise we are listening.

As General Chat is closed this evening, feel free to stick around on the boards this evening if you want a general chit-chat! You can also help us get to 20,000, or explore our Creative Corner.

    Got to keep being positive, atleast 1 chat is on, hopefully we can move to a more reliable schedule really soon, plus we got more notice.

    Also, happy to post updates, but i agree with the others on that front!

    i’m sure the mods did do a good job as they often do, even whenever chat is busy etc, and it’s 100% not their fault that the mix haven’t shared updates!! as much as it was great that you shared what was happening, @independent_ , it shouldn’t be you that has to update the community!! thank you for doing so though <3

    The staff are doing everything they can, we don’t know what happens behind the scenes and the mix probably can’t share a lot of the stuff :)
    Sometimes when the people most like you don't love you, it is a hurt that can cause the greatest pain, and this pain can lead you to hate everything.

    I think we can all appreciate though that it is very frustrating to sign on expecting to see one thing and then to see another. So that's why I put it on here, just in case people look before they go on (as I usually do now). It used to be that whoever was supervising the chat would have a boards account too and would post about plan changes like this one.

    Anyway, it was all saved, and that's amazing. I think a lot of the feelings around this come from the fact that many of us (if not most) have been let down by mental health services at some point or another and in the past, these types of organisations were the most reliable support we were able to access. Perhaps it's a change in culture, but I think people feel this is changing and they're going with even less support. We can never forget that the entire reason people come here is because they're struggling, and things like this can just tip someone over the edge on a given day. So to my fellow members, I'm right here with you on that. And to the staff, there might not be an immediate solution, but it might be at least insightful as to why people feel quite strongly about it all.
