"Hey Elijah."
Ruby didn't even look up from her book as her best friend Elijah entered the room.
"Nice to see you too." He said, mock annoyed.
Ruby looked up, a warm smile on her deep red lips. "I was reading!"
"And that means you get to ignore me?" Elijah smirked. Ruby placed her book down. "You said there was something important?" She pressed. "Right, right." He cleared his throat, "I found a note in my locker."
"Who from?"
"I don't know!" Elijah explained. He showed Ruby a note in intricate loopy writing.
Want to solve a mystery, as you both like to do?
Go to the oak tree tomorrow at three.
If you don't want to, leave us be,
But your curiousity will lead you,
I guarantee.
"Huh." Ruby said. "Should we go, or is it risky?"
Elijah shrugged. "Maybe we should check it out."
Ruby nodded. "Okay."
