Asthma problems

Hey guys so I have asthma but I don’t have or get my own inhalers. I haven’t have my own since early primary school. This past year it’s gotten bad again but no one listens to me so I have to use my brothers (his gets renewed automatically each month and I make sure there is still plenty for him if I need it bad enough) When I say mine is bad I mean the kind of asthma when you have to force every breath and even then it’s not a full one to the point I feel like I’m suffocating at night but then my mam goes mad when I use his because “he needs them” (I am medically diagnosed asthmatic on record)

My question is for now are there any other ways I can get some of the stuff off my chest without an inhaler for now I feel like I’m trying everything, thank you

    Hi @Lucy_21, i get where your coming from with needing an inhaler but not having your on - i went through a similar experience. for myself i booked an appointment with my GP and spoke to the nurse about how i was struggling breathing etc and they then prescribed my inhalers again - im not sure if this might be worth for yourself, i do know that not all GP's are as helpful so understand if you have tried this.

    other ways you can get things off your chest is you can purchase a nebuliser and the liquid for it that may help but i would encourage you to see a doctor first and get advice and see if they can help. Or alternatively if it is getting really hard to breath go to A&E as they will be able to safely administer a nebuliser; you could also contact 111 and get advice from them as it might be if you have had a prescription before they may be able to issue you an emergency one etc.

    if your worried abt your asthma getting worse i would rly recommend going to a dr or even a pharmacy bc they have consultants there who you could talk to abt this and they can advise on what to do.
    ppl dont always need advice. sometimes all they rly need is a hand to hold. an ear to listen. and a heart to understand them. 🧸

    That’s my problem my mam (my disability carer) won’t take me to get one I don’t know why but then goes mad when I use use my brothers and I can’t do that other stuff because she’ll get mad

    they should be helping you especially bc its a health issue if you cant go to a pharmacy or gp maybe calling 111 bc they can be contacted online just like the mix but you fill in your symptoms etc.

    This sounds scary to go through (not being able to breathe properly is awful), I agree with Eylah that it might be worth it to reach out to 111 to get some proper medical advice. There's also this page that talks quite a bit about asthma
