Hi Community Introverts!
We're writing a post for introvert awareness day which is happening at the beginning of 2025!
What does being an introvert mean to you? How do you recharge? What are some things you wish people knew about your introverted side?

i think for me being an introvert is where being sociable can take a lot of energy. it isn't necessarily that i don't like people, i just find it takes a lot out of me to "mingle with others", especially when its a lot of people and people i don't know.
i recharge by spending time on my own doing my own hobbies, whether it be reading, watching something on TV or a film, going for walks on my own. just little things to protect my peace when and were i can and i need to.
and as for things i wish people knew - that i'm not as standoff-ish as i may first appear. like because it may take more courage or energy to meet new people and talk to them, i feel it can sometimes come across that i'm disinterested or being rude, when this isn't normally the case. i just don't find it as easy to go up to someone i don't know and be all energetic. however once i am comfortable with someone, that is usually when i find it easier to be more outgoing and sociable and it takes less of that 'social energy' to do so.
i'm intrigued what my fellow introverts have to say on the topic too
