I don’t understand…did I do something wrong?

I was in Wetherspoons with mum and her friend and at 9:30pm this security man came charging over asking for ID even tho I was drinking Diet Coke cos like clearly I’m a rebel drinking it. And I tried to show him a picture of my birth certificate to prove my age but he insisted on a physical copy and then because I did t have one he said I have to leave…

So mums friend called him a nobhead and we left. I was hardly being loud and partying in the corner reading a book 💀

    Most likely because weatherspoons have a policy that after a certain time only over 18s are allowed in - usually 9pm . As for the physical copy issue that’s standard everywhere - it’s because it could be a “fake” hence why they need to see the actual copy as it’s easier to spot the fakes then.
    Sometimes all you need is one person to believe in you , for you to begin to believe in yourself.

    My birth certificate picture works in every shop tho and at other restaurants :( even if I was under 18 I was with proper adults and they are wrinkly XD

    They technailly aren’t meant to accept photos of ID - Yeah I don’t think it matters if your with adults or not it’s just there weird curfew they have about under 18s after a certain time. I’ve been ID before after that time

    @briannat i don’t have any other ID. Can’t carry my birth certificate around.
