Otherwise I will only wear when it seems like the better thing, especially since I struggle wearing them unless its a well ventilated environment.
I feel like people were judging of others who cannot wear them for legit reasons. I know some ppl just didn't bother but a lot of it felt unfair and you were even forced to wear it in outdoor parts of garden centres or places where there were nearly no people. Some people are like I dont care if we have to wear masks forever, and they don't consider some people do struggle and its not just a mild discomfort.
I didn't feel I suffered enough for exemptions or that and it was confusing how they worked so I didnt I just minimised going into shops too long and travelling on public transport. I know even people with proper exemptions and reasons got harassed for not wearing masks though more recently everyone seems much more lax about it. A lot of people just want the clubs or something to open I think tho.
I think im still mostly gonna avoid public transport for the time being.
I had to ride the bus at peak time.
I don't think wearing masks is enough when people come up close to you and sit next to you. It was also unfair they blocked many of the roads in cities and made it hard for cars to travel while also making it hard to use public transport other than bicycles and walking.
I understand what you mean @tkdog about feeling like they aren't enough when people are sitting right next to you. The other thing I did not quite get is spending like 2 hours in a confined restaurant/cafe and not having to wear your mask at the table, but when you got up to leave you had to put it back on. I still wore it, just didn't think it was having a massive impact.
Totally agree with @tkdog that it obviously causes a lot of people way more than mild discomfort, and I am glad it is changing to a situation where people can choose. Hopefully the judgement from not wearing a mask slowly changes, as people do have valid reasons for not wearing them
