She’s by far the strongest woman I know and I aspire to be like her.
At 16 years old she was raped and went to court. On the first day of the trial she found out there were 5 other girls, one of them being 13.
I was sexually assaulted at 14 years old by a 65yo man. I walked his dog as a part time job, he groomed me, then tried to pursue a romantic relationship with me. My mum supported me and encouraged me to report what had happened. She constantly reminded me it wasn’t my fault, as I consistently blamed myself (he said I had lead him on so i blamed myself).
My mum went to the same court room she had her trial in roughly 20 years prior. She stood up in court and gave evidence despite the reminder of her own traumatic experience.
I don’t deserve my mum, but I really don’t know what I’d do without her. She truly is an incredible, strong and selfless woman.
