  "Alcohol can make some people feel depressed because it’s a type of drug called a depressant."
  
  This is misleading. In the context of drugs 'drepressants' are chemicals that slow down your central nervous system. They'r enot called depressants they affect your mood.
  
  In fact many of the best drugs used for treating depression are depressants, though alcohol is not considered one of them
