Anti depressants

I was just wondering if anyone would like to share their experience or knowledge on antidepressants.
Tomorrow im starting flouxetine. Ive tried it before and sertraline. I say tried. I didnt take it then regularly and stored each day to overdose after a few weeks or tried it just for a few days, then went back to overdosing. Im determined to actually take it. And will be checked by nurses anyway.
Did anyone have any side affects. When i just took one pill, i had loads of side affects and was being sick. Im starting on 20 mg or something. Im not sure if thats high.
Does it help or just make sucidal thoughts more intense?

    I had no side effects on the AD I've been on which are a fair few. Fluoxitine, Mirtazapine, Setraline, Dozulapin, Citalopram and a couple of others. AD make the suicidal thoughts worser while the treatment starts but then gets better if your depressed

    hey Shaunie, how are you feeling today?
    I did some research on the AD you'll be starting and from what I can understand (But I am no Doctor), 20mg is normally the dose people would start on and could (but might not, its case dependant) be increased.
    From my experience with Citalopram, things do get better. For me it was a slow start, but within a few months I began feeling a lot more like myself.

    Often with medication its a trial and error process to find the right medication and right dosage that works, since everyones bodies and minds work differently.

    Thank you both for your replies. I havent had any side affects so far. Hopefully with time it will help me as well
