Claiming housing benefit

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 122,046 The Mix Honorary Guru
Hi
I want to ask a question, has anyone been paid housing benefit when renting through a guardianship. I had a motorbike accident in October which resulted in multiple broken bones including a leg which is now in a brace, head fracture, multiple face and jaw fractures and consequently I am unable to work. My housing benefit has been stopped because I am renting as a guardian although my company that I rent from are okay with me claiming rent benefit while I am recovering. Any advice welcome

    Hey ppg

Apologies for the delay in picking this up! Really sorry to hear about your accident - how are you doing now?

I wonder if you'd thought about contacting Citizens Advice Bureau - they may have some information on their website. If you wanted advice more specific to your situation you could give them a call or try out their web chat service
