Endless migraine

Firstly hi.
I've not been a member of this forum long, I've spent more time just reading through the posts other people have put here, and my heart goes out to each of you.

as for my self, i've never used a chat room/forum in my life, never had the need to. I always thought that they took far too long to get answers from people who were more interested in trying to sell you something or do the 'yeah, yeah, when I had it I, me me I...' thing.
i was relieved to see people actually giving a damn, so i thought id put finger to keyboard and ask for some advice.

A couple of years ago i was told I'd got arthritis in both knees (I'm 49 BTW) and it would only get worse over time, i had to take a couple of months off work at the time it was diagnosed due to pain. i was prescribed a few pain killers, but mainly took ibuprofen and paracetamol in quite high doses for quite a few months while i went back to work.
After about two months i began to get headaches regularly, that turned into permanent migraine pain behind my right eye. this pain was incredible for me as id never had a migraine before (my sympathies to those of you who have) it caused me to be sick, blurred vision, i couldn't move, light sensitive, i couldn't have noise to begin with, or heat, the list went on. i was told it was the pain killers that had caused it.
my doctor prescribed a number of different medications specifically for migraine, all of which did nothing. i went to see a neurologists and had a number of scans that showed nothing, a specialist headache doctor prescribed various injections, nasal sprays and tables all of which have made me feel either drunk or hungover or both at the same time.
As a result i have been off work for a few months now and having been to occupational therapy a few times they have told me they are more concerned with my mental health, to a point that they cannot tell if the migraines are any worse or better than they were three months ago. i feel they are no better, they say 'at least they are no worse' no good to me. home life is suffering, money is tight to a point i had to sell the car to pay the rent already, my marriage is suffering and its feeding on its self, i don't have anyone i can talk to about it, i cant see an end to this apart from the obvious and the list goes on
My question for you guys is (if your still with me) has anyone else gone through this?
is there a switch im missing?
it is unbelievably hard at the moment. any advise would be great.

thanks

*i reralise i may be a bit old for this forum as well apologies.

    Hi,

I'm going through similar atm. I'm now in the situation where I've had to reduce the dose of my medication because it's causing hearing problems. I've finally been told after 3 years to try and work out what my triggers are and go from there. I know that my triggers are noise and light. Some people find that certain foods can be a trigger, as can not enough food or water.

    hey,

i cant imagine having this banging around inside my head for three years.
How have they suggested you deal with your triggers, my migraine is a constant thing, it gets worse with silence or people fussing around me or crowds, sounds stupid, but white noise in headphones is a recent discovery that seems to work wonders for me for short periods of time. and intense heat on my forehead, almost as hot as i can stand.
But theses are temporary. there has to be a cure out there like a sledge hammer or something.

They've not suggested anything yet. It was because I've started having hearing problems. Audiology think there's nothing wrong and ENT think part of the problem is the medication I take. I've been told I need to reduce it and try to find a natural way of dealing with them. It was suggested that with some people, it's to do with certain foods or drinks that can trigger them.

I also get them if I don't eat or drink enough.
