Getting back deleted videos from iPod

i haven't a clue how to get some vids which were funny back onto my iPod nano 5th. As I was worried about how much memory the vids were using up on my iPod (this was before I knew that videos don't affect memory at all) I ended up deleting the majority of them idiot I am and wish I could retrieve them as they made me laugh & reminded me of good times of friends I used to know but no longer hear from 😞
Would I need to download anything in order to do this as I'm not sure what's free or not? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated
