    Hi Lacey,

Sending you lots of *hug*, it sounds like you're going through a really tough time at the moment!

Choosing whether to keep a baby is a really tough but personal decision and really dependent upon your circumstances and how you feel. Have you considered getting some pregnancy counselling from somewhere like Brook? This is a specialist service who will be able to talk your options through with you and are non-judgemental or sitting on either side of the fence.

Also, if you haven't yet been to see your doctor to confirm it, it might be worthwile in doing so.

    Good luck.

Hi, thanks I will try that, brook . I have confirmed with doctor and have a midwife appointment in two weeks but I have also told doctor I am considering abortion but not that I haven't decided.

    Hi Lacey,

I hope you're feeling a bit better and have had a chance to think through your options. As Kate said, it's a personal choice but if you feel yourself stuck on deciding what's best to do, you could write a "pros and cons" list of keeping the baby to help organise your thoughts and establish whether having another child would be right for you. It could just be that you're a little overwhelmed since you'll be having this child without the father's support, but your midwife and other health professionals will be there to support you every step of the way. Also, do you have other support networks available to you? Such as friends and family who has helped you previously? It's important to remember that you don't have to go through your pregnancy alone and perhaps once you've talked this through with someone close to you, you may feel a little better and feel more able to cope with the situation.

My family have said that they won't be happy if I keep it, and that they feel they would be left to pick up the pieces whatever that means. My friends want me to keep it. But I'm thinking that for my own good it's best to not have it as I might get depressed and it is hard plus I like my freedom ....that's what I'm thinking right now

Whilst it's good to get opinions from other people, ultimately, it's your choice. As others have said, I do think you need to discuss this with someone.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I thank you for your replies :)
As I've had the opinions of friends and family I felt it best to get an opinion from someone I don't know. I have a midwife appointment soon so maybe I should ask her..

When I first found out I was pregnant I was not unhappy .. I was happy .
