First week nerves...

I start a Psychology degree in two weeks. I am nervous because I don't know anyone on this course, I am always pretty quiet when meeting new people, how should I break the ice? (I am hoping that sitting in the pub will be enough to make friends with all the scary new people I will meet?)
Freshers Week... what is the best pulling technique I should adopt? My plan is: Drinking myself unconscious and hoping a pretty new student will take me to the halls to have her way with me. Anything better?

just try and be a bit outgoing and friendly, talk to people, ask what courses theyre doing, what a levels they did, where they come from, stuff about the uni and the places you're living, the work maybe if theyre on the same course, that kinda thing
