Trouble staying asleep? Been using a sleep mask for a week... surprised by the result

Hey all,
So I've long had a lot of difficulty staying asleep, which has previously been attributed to stress and anxiety by my GPs. What I mean by difficulty staying asleep, is that I can fall asleep fine, but anywhere between 2am and 6am I will wake up warm, hot, bothered, feeling upset or distressed, and find it difficult to quickly pass back to sleep. The inevitable result is that the waking hours I generally feel groggier and more tired.
Well, something that's probably stupidly simple and maybe overlooked by a lot of people struggling with sleep is the impact of light and sound on your sleep. Here are the products I bought:
Daydream Basic Sleep Mask with Cool Pack Black
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001KC1FAQ/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00
20 Pairs of Howard Leight MAX 1 Ear Plugs
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0026IR2SM/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00
And they have really done the trick. My eyes even look different, the dark patches around them are gone and I wake up at 7am and hop out of bed as if I'd been awake all morning and had lots of coffee.
Would recommend it for everyone who has difficult staying asleep. Falling asleep I am led to believe is a different kettle of fish, but you can always try them.
